I am a cradle Catholic who although has attended church for all my life spent much of my adulthood as a person in the pews each Sunday developing a pick and choose attitude on Church teachings. After many years of being a Catholic only in name, I realized that this is not what God intended for me. Having the scales drop of my eyes, I found that the faith of my childhood was profoundly rich and intriguing to the point that I took it more seriously. One thing led to the next as I began to read many Catholic authors, Thomas Merton and Matthew Kelly being some of my favorites, and then began writing here myself. As a devout Catholic, I am challenged daily to live out the Church teachings in a society that views the institution as out of touch and need for change. I myself see the value of our faith and continue my faith journey as an eager traveler looking for new roads along the path of life.
Married with two children, I have tried to live out my faith in all areas of my life. On a personal level, I am a lifelong educator of middle school students who is passionate about the teaching of history. I am also an avid endurance cyclist who loves the long reflective hours on the bike when my body allows me.
All opinions of that of the author and do not reflect that of any organization or affiliation.
In a world fraught with noise, confusion, fear, I find that moments of silence are refreshing. Much of my silent time is devoted to spiritual reflection. It is during this time that I have come to better know my Creator and have felt the inspiration to write.
